Embroidery Ribbons

We carry only the finest made silk ribbons from China Silk which made from continuous strands of silk, unlike some ribbons which are made with Silk Noil that has slubs from connecting strands together and is stiff to the touch. The difference between the two types of silk is simple. China Silk is made from boiled cocoons which creates one continuous thread = smooth surface. Silk Noil is made from cocoons where the worm eats it's way through it which causes slubs where ever the threads are joined.

We offer three companies, two with solid colors, one with overdyed and two that are hand painted ribbons. YLI offers sizes 2mm-7mm, River Silks and Gloriana 4mm, 7mm & 13mm. (If you haven't already you owe it to yourself to try the RiverSilks as they embroider beautifully and last longer in the eye of your needle with little fraying.)  Each company offers different ambiance to your silk ribbon projects.   It's always fun to mix and match.
